With a diversified portfolio spanning key sectors such as fertilizers, petrochemicals, gas distribution, and power generation, EKH has consistently focused on acquiring and establishing companies that are not only of high quality but also built on sustainable practices, ensuring long-term value and growth. Recognizing the market demand for high-quality wood-based products, EKH ventured into this sector with NILEWOOD as a strategic initiative, aiming to fill a gap in the market and contribute to the development of Egypt’s wood manufacturing industry. NILEWOOD is an emerging leader in the wood manufacturing industry, operating an advanced MDF facility spanning an impressive 150,000 m² in Sadat City. Strategically positioned near the region’s desert lands, NILEWOOD transformed sandy terrain into a thriving 3,500-feddan forest, providing a sustainable source of fresh, locally cultivated wood for their production. This bold, sustainable approach sets NILEWOOD apart as the first factory to source wood and fibers from its own responsibly managed forests, establishing a new benchmark in the region. Additionally, NILEWOOD addresses a significant market gap by producing MDF—a product that is not easily manufactured in Egypt and typically relies on imports. With an impressive annual production capacity of 200,000 m³ of MDF, NILEWOOD aims to meet a notable portion of the domestic market demand, delivering consistent quality and reliability. Furthermore, NILEWOOD is strategically positioned to export to the region, leveraging trade treaties to boost exports and increase hard currency inflows, further strengthening the economy.
